Jessica Bridges works autobiographically, drawing upon personal psychological concerns, in particular focusing on depression and related issues. She utilises found materials in order to describe her work in the most tangible ways. The maternal and the problems associated underpin the most important aspects of her work, along with the current economic climate in which the work directly draws influence to question; what significance it places on an artist and whether it hinders?

The most current collection of work explores the forgotten, examining the fear of the empty space underneath the bed, reflecting the cavernous hole left in the womb after birth. The sound aspect of the piece evokes a sense of melancholy. The varied viewpoints of what this space universally represents is open to interpretation from the viewer, however, still conveying a sense of unease.
